SSC CHSL 2018 Recruitment Overview :

Staff Selection Commission has released SSC CHSL Notification 2017-18 on 17th November at ssc.nic.in. SSC CHSL 2017-18 Recruitment has released to recruit candidates for 3259 Posts on various Ministries and Department of Government of India. The SSC is a government organization that yearly conducts CHSL examination. The Combined Higher Level Secondary examination is one of the most important exams which is conducted for the recruitment of Data Entry Operator and other posts. SSC CHSL 2018 Tier I exam will be conducted from 4th March to 26th March 2018 and Tier II exam has will be conducted on 8th July 2018 to recruit the eligible candidates for Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants, Lower Divisional Clerks, and Data Entry Operators (LDC & DEO) Posts. Previous Updates: The Staff Selection Commission has decided to extend the last date of SSC CHSL Application Form submission. The Last date has been extended till 27th December 2017 upto 5:00 PM.
The Commission in strict conformity with the said instructions provisions has fixed the crucial date for reckoning of age as on 01.08.2018 in the Notice of CHSLE 2017. It is further made explicitly clear that the crucial date for reckoning of age and Educational Qualification for CHSLE, 2017 would be 01.08.2018 and no change in this date would be made.  
Previous Update: Staff Selection Commission has released SSC CHSL Notification 2017 on the official website on 18th November. As per the official notice, the last date to fill up the online SSC CHSL 2017 application form is 18.12.2017.SSC CHSL Application Form 2017 online submission has been started from 18th November and it will be closed on 18th December 2017. SSC CHSL 2018 Eligibility Criteria :

Education Qualification: Candidates need to check their eligibility criteria before applying for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2018. As the name suggests, Combined Higher level Secondary Exam requires candidates who have passed the 12th exam or an equivalent exam from a government recognized Board or University. To apply for Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India, candidates must have passed 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Age Limit: Candidates who want to apply for SSC CHSL 2018 Exam their age should be between 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates as per the govt rules. 18-27 years as on 01.08.2018 (Candidates born not before 02-08-1991 and not later than 01-08-2000).

SSC CHSL Application Form 2017-18 :

The SSC CHSL 2017 Application Form online submission process has been started from 18th November and it has been closed on 27th December 2017. Candidates need to visit the official website for more details. Candidates are advised to apply online for SSC CHSL 2018 examination before the last date because after closing the candidates will not apply for it. SSC CHSL Application Fee :

Candidates will have to pay Rs 100/- as SSC CHSL application fee. However, all female/ SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates are exempted from the application fee. The payment can be done using net banking, debit cards etc, while offline the application fee can be deposited by SBI challan or CRF stamps that can be bought from any post office.

SSC CHSL 2018 Exam Pattern :

The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III).

Points to be the highlight: -
  • The question paper will be available in both languages I.e. English & Hindi
  • The questions will be MCQ
  • There will be Negative marking and for each wrong answer0.50 marks will be deducted.
  • There will be 25 questions from each of the above sections

There will be a skill test for the post of Data Operator and the other test will be a typing test for the post of Assistant and clerk.
Tier II Exam Pattern
The tier II will be a descriptive type of total 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode. It will be of one-hour duration and candidate need to write an easy of 200-250 words and letter/ application of 150-200 words.
Skill Test/ Typing Test:
In this stage, candidates will have to give a typing speed test. The test will be conducted for both English and Hindi languages:
  • For English medium-  typing speed of 35 words per minute
  • For Hindi medium – typing speed of 30 words per minute.
Test will be 10 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions. VH candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes.

SSC CHSL 2018 Selection Procedure :

For the SSC CHSL Recruitment 2018, the selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of written examination performance. Candidate needs to get qualified in order to get selected. Candidates need to clear all the stages i.e. Tier I and Tier II to get final selection. A candidate who will qualify both the tiers will be required to appear in typing test/ skill test. The Final selection will be done by considering over all performance and Merit Position scored by the candidate.

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2018 :

Here, we have mentioned the SSC CHSL exam syllabus which will helpful for candidates who are preparing for SSC CHSL 2018 Examination.
I. General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences,Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations. 
II. English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage. 
III. Quantitative Aptitude:   
ARITHMETIC:
Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time and work.
ALGEBRA: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations. 
GEOMETRY: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: 
Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles. 
MENSURATION: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
TRIGONOMETRY: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems) Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1 etc, 
STATISTICAL CHARTS : Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart 
General Awareness: In this section, questions related to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research will be asked. Also the candidate needs to be aware about the surroundings and current happenings around the nation.

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2018 :

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2018 will be released by the Staff Selection Commission for Tier-I before 10 to 15 days of examination region wise. SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam will be conducted from 4th March to 26th March 2018. All candidates (who have successfully submitted the application form of CHSL) will be able to download SSC CHSL 2018 Admit Card from the official website. Candidates will be able to download the admit card from official website of Staff Selection Commission and should go through all the mentioned instructions carefully.

SSC CHSL Cut Off 2018 :

SSC CHSL Cut Off 2018 will be released at the time of result declaration for the candidates who will be selected for the Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) exam. Cut-Off marks are the minimum qualifying marks which should be obtained by the applicants to qualify the examination. SSC CHSL Result 2018 :

After the completion of the descriptive paper, SSC CHSL Tier-II Result 2016-17 declared on 18th October 2017. SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam was conducted on 9th July 2017. Only those candidates had appeared in SSC CHSL Tier-II examination who got good marks in SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Result 2016. The Commission has declared CHSL Tier-II Result 2017 on 13th October. Candidates will be able to check SSC CHSL Final Result 2016 from here on 16th February 2018.
SSC CHSL Result 2018 for Tier-I examination will be announced on the official website after 2 or 3 months of examination.
