CAT 2018 Exam Details :

CAT 2018 Notification is expected to be released in 1st week of August 2018. CAT Application Form 2018 submission will be started after few days of notification release This examination is one of the toughest examinations to take admissions in Management Schools of India. As it is the main stream examination conducted in order to give admission to candidates in renowned Indian Institutes of Management. The CAT 2018 Online Registration will be closed in last week of September. The Common Admission Test 2018 examination is going to be organized by Indian Institutes of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L).

Latest Updates: CAT Notification for 2018 examination is expected to be released in August 2018 and examination will be held in November 2018.

CAT 2018 Seats Quota

Though the no. of seats are not specified and also the number varies year to year, it also provides a great opportunity to a huge no. of students. However, there is also a short amount of relaxation for all those candidates who belong to reserved categories as there is certainly no. of seats which are reserved for these categories. Let us have a look at them in a clear view.

• ST- 7.5%
• SC- 15%
• OBC- 27%
• PWD- 3%

Note- The candidate who'll be claiming reservation has to attach supporting documents with CAT 2018 Application Form. The aspirants who'll fail in submitting the required documents proving their reservation will not be given any relaxation.

CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria :

Education Qualification: -

• CAT is an eligibility test or common admission test conducted for admission in B-schools. The aspirants who want to apply for CAT 2018 Examination has to possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a recognized university by government of India with at least 50% while for the candidates belonging to different categories like SC/ST/PWD have a relaxation of 5% i.e. they should have only 45%.
• The applicants who are in final year as in 2018 and waiting for results can also apply. Though the condition is the students has to submit the real documents.

Age Limit: -

There is no specified age limit for applicants who will be applying for CAT 2018 Exam, though the minimum age is expected to be 18 years with no upper age limit.

CAT 2018 Application Form :

Aspirants, who’re looking forward to apply for this examination, should visit the official website of CAT 2018 Online Examination i.e. www.iimcat.ac.in. Candidates are advised to read CAT 2018 Notification (which will be released in August) and all the necessary details first. As we have mentioned above the CAT Online Registration 2018 will be started after few days of notification declaration and it will be closed on in September 2018. Therefore, candidates who are interested and eligible to apply for CAT examination should apply on or before the last date because once the last date over then no one will be applicable to fill CAT Application Form 2018.

CAT 2018 Application Fee :

The applicant has to pay the following amount of fees for this test. The Unreserved category i.e. Gen/OBC has to pay Rs. 1800 and the SC/ST/PWD will have to pay Rs. 900. The applicants have to upload a copy of their SC/ST/PWD certificate along with the form while making the fee payment. Once the fees are submitted, it'll not be refunded back.

CAT 2018 Exam Pattern :

CAT 2018 exam pattern is available here for the candidate's help. CAT examination will be held in 3rd week of November in which 3 sections will be available Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Total 100 questions will be asked in the examination for maximum 300 marks. There is negative marking for wrong questions. Candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking for non-MCQs or unattempted questions. All questions will be multiple choice and non-multiple choice. Total 34 questions will be asked from Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VRC) and Quantitative Ability (QA), but 32 questions will be asked from the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR).

CAT 2018 Syllabus :

Although there is no specific Syllabus for CAT 2018 by IIMs. as per the old question papers pattern, we can analysis CAT 2018 syllabus.The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIMs) has mentioned the level of the questions (which will be asked in the examination) will be similar to Class VIII-Class X. However, the examination experts mentioned that some of the questions will be asked from the Class XII to graduation level. Questions will be asked from three sections Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Ability. 

Verbal and Reading Comprehension Ability: Analogies or Reverse Analogies, Jumbled Paragraph, Meaning-Usage and Match, Fill in the blanks, Close Passage, Summary Questions, English Usage and Grammar, Verbal Reasoning, English Vocabulary, Antonyms & Synonyms, Facts, Interfaces, and Judgements, Reading Comprehension, etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: Percentage, Time and Work, LCM and HCF, Profit and Loss, Number system, CI and SI, Quadratic Equations, Speed, Time and Distance, Averages, Ratio and Proportion, Binomial Theorem, Linear Equations, Complex Numbers, Logarithms, Surds and Indices, Sequences and Series, Set theory, Probability, Inequalities, Permutation and Combination, Mixtures and Allegations, Functions, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Coordinate Geometry, etc.

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: Pie-Charts, Number and Letter Series, Venn Diagrams, Cubes, Line charts, Calendar, Clocks, Bar Graph, Binary Logic, Tables, Seating Arrangements, Caselets, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Logical Matching, Logical Connectives, Logical Sequence, etc.

CAT 2018 Selection Procedure :

CAT 2018 Exam Selection procedure divided into three part.

• Firstly, the first round will be CAT 2018 Exam Result
• Admission Process, this process may include WAT (Written Ability Test), GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interviews).
• Eligibility Verification.

CAT Admit Card 2018 :

Candidates who will successfully submit CAT 2018 Application Form will be able to download CAT 2018 Admit Card from last week of October to till the examination date. The Common Admission Test is expected to be conducted in 3rd week of November and after the release of CAT Admit Card 2018, candidates will be able to download it from the official website by using the important details. CAT Examination Admit card will carry all the important details about the examination such as the name of candidates, exam date, exam center, important instructions about the examination, etc.

CAT Cut off 2018 :

In the CAT examination, there are the minimum marks required for a candidate to qualify one examination. CAT 2018 Cut-Off Marks will be released at the time of result declared. Students will be distributed on the basis of marks scored by them. Students check whether they have qualified the exam or not by checking the official cut-off released by the concerned authorities. The cut off will be based on the difficulty level of examination, number of seats, and number of students appeared in the examination. 

CAT Result 2018 :

The CAT 2018 Result will be declared the 2nd week of January 2019. CAT Result 2018 will be declared on the official website of CAT that is iimcat.ac.in. The result will include components like Standard score set for every section, Total Score, CAT 2018 Cut-Off Percentile, etc. This result can also be used to take admission in different B-Schools and PGDM, MBA Courses offering colleges.
