About IIT and IISc: The IIT’s and IISc are the autonomous public colleges which provide higher education to the students in India. The application procedure to enroll in GATE 2018 Notification is very easy. You have to fill all the personal and official details carefully. - After login, fill the GATE 2018 Application Form.

- If you are considered in any reserved category that you must have to upload original certificate regarding it.
- Fill all the data correctly.

The correction in the GATE Application Form 2018 will be allowed only after the online registration. In case, if any mistake will be committed by the candidate in the application then, he/she has to send an email subjecting “Correction in data (Enrollment Number)” along with the documented proof.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern:
- Exam Mode: The GATE 2018 exam will be conducted online only (CBT).
- Exam Duration: The examination time will be 3 hours.
- Number of Questions: Total 65 questions will be asked in GATE 2018 Exam for maximum 100 marks.
- Type of Questions: The MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) & NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Questions will be asked in GATE examination.
- Section Common in All GATE Papers: The GA (General Aptitude) section is common in all papers. It will contain total 150 questions for maximum 15 marks (5 questions of 1 mark and 5 questions of 2 marks).
- New Section: In the paper of XE, a new section (H) namely Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has been included from the year 2017.
- Marking Scheme: MCQ and NAT questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers.
- Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for the questions carrying 1 mark. Likewise, for questions carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks will be deducted. No negative marking for Numerical Answer Type questions.
GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for All Papers except GG, XE, XL:
- 25 questions of 1 mark each.
- 30 questions of 2 marks each.
- 10 questions from GA.
GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper XE:
- Section A – Engineering Mathematics (Compulsory Section) – Total 11 questions will be asked. 7 questions of 1 mark each and 4 questions of 2 marks each. It is common to all candidates.
- Any two of XE sections from B to H – 22 questions. 9 questions carrying 1 mark and 13 questions carrying 2 marks.
- 10 questions from GA.
GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper GG:
- Part A – 25 questions of 1 mark each. This part is common for all candidates.
- Part B – 30 questions of 2 marks each. This part has two sections, section-1 is of Geology and section-2 is of Geophysics.
- 10 questions from GA.

- Section P – Chemistry (compulsory section) – It contains total 15 questions (5 questions of 1 marks and 10 questions of 2 marks).

As the hall ticket of GATE 2018 examination, it has been issued from 5th January 2018 onwards while the examination will be conducted on 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th February 2018. Hall ticket is of prime importance for the examination because it has all the details about exam like examination centre, timing, date of exam, etc. Candidates have to bring this admit card to get an entry into the examination hall.
GATE Cut Off 2018:
GATE 2018 Cut-Off Marks are the minimum marks which required for a candidate to qualify in the examination. Cut-Off Marks for GATE 2018 will be released after the declaration of GATE 2018 Result. These scores will help us in approximating, whether the candidate will qualify the exam or not or reach the set cut-off limit or not.
