GATE 2018 Application Form:

The GATE 2018 Application Form submission process closed on 9th October 2017 and examination will be conducted in February 2018. This year, GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT G) These are on of the top most colleges of India which offer the Postgraduate courses and Ph.D. courses to B.TECH/B.E graduates through GATE Exam. The examination date has been scheduled for 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th February 2018.

GATE 2018 examination will be conducted by the IIT Guwahati. In GATE 2018 Registration, aspirants can only apply for one of the disciplines from 23 streams. Many PSU’s and private company’s recruit candidates on the basis of their GATE Score Card. The GATE exam is used to analysis technical skills as well as mathematical and logical skills. The gate score is valid for three years afterwards it will be expired. GATE examination is conducted by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) and IISc and is one of the toughest examinations of India.

GATE 2018 Exam Details

• Course: GATE examination is conducted for admission to ME, M.Tech./Ph.D programme in IITs , IISc and various other institutions.
• Number of Papers: GATE 2018 is held for total 23 papers. Candidates are allowed to appear in only one of the 23 papers.
• Mode of Examination: The examination mode will be online only (CBT).
• GATE 2018 Exam Going to be Organised by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT G)

About IIT and IISc: The IIT’s and IISc are the autonomous public colleges which provide higher education to the students in India. These institutions are controlled by Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 implemented by the government. There are total 23 IITs are located across the country. The first Indian Institute of Technology is IIT Kharagpur and it is started in 1951. This year, GATE exam will be conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT G). Every year the registration of candidates crosses 6 lakh in the counting of registration forms and around 5 lakh students appear for the exam (approximately). GATE 2018 Online Registration:

The application procedure to enroll in GATE 2018 Notification is very easy. You have to fill all the personal and official details carefully. However, you will get the chance to make correct changes but that will be charged. GATE 2018 Application Form has been released and now already registered and new candidates can apply online fill the application form till 9th October 2017. Candidates are suggested to fill the application form before the last date because no one will be applicable to apply after the last date. How to Apply for GATE 2018 Exam?

• Firstly you have to visit the official website of GATE.
• Login into the site. If you don’t have logic id then sign up.
• After login, fill the GATE 2018 Application Form.
• The registration form is divided into many parts i.e. Personal details, Educational details, thumb impression, photograph, and signature.
• If you are considered in any reserved category that you must have to upload original certificate regarding it.
• Fill all the data correctly.
• The last step will be of payment.
• Then after payment confirmation message is being sent to you in your mail account.
• You have successfully submitted your application.

The correction in the GATE Application Form 2018 will be allowed only after the online registration. In case, if any mistake will be committed by the candidate in the application then, he/she has to send an email subjecting “Correction in data (Enrollment Number)” along with the documented proof.

GATE Corrections/Modifications will be granted in the following fields:

• DOB (Date of Birth)
• Name of Candidate
• Name of Parent/Guardian
• Have you graduated with the above degree?
• Status from Gen to OBC and OBC to General
• Year of Qualifying Degree

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern:

• Exam Mode: The GATE 2018 exam will be conducted online only (CBT).
• Exam Duration: The examination time will be 3 hours.
• Number of Questions: Total 65 questions will be asked in GATE 2018 Exam for maximum 100 marks.
• Type of Questions: The MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) & NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Questions will be asked in GATE examination.
• Section Common in All GATE Papers: The GA (General Aptitude) section is common in all papers. It will contain total 150 questions for maximum 15 marks (5 questions of 1 mark and 5 questions of 2 marks).
• New Section: In the paper of XE, a new section (H) namely Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has been included from the year 2017.
• Marking Scheme: MCQ and NAT questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers.
• Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for the questions carrying 1 mark. Likewise, for questions carrying 2 marks, 2/3 marks will be deducted. No negative marking for Numerical Answer Type questions.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for All Papers except GG, XE, XL:

• 25 questions of 1 mark each.
• 30 questions of 2 marks each.
• 10 questions from GA.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper XE:

• Section A – Engineering Mathematics (Compulsory Section) – Total 11 questions will be asked. 7 questions of 1 mark each and 4 questions of 2 marks each. It is common to all candidates.
• Any two of XE sections from B to H – 22 questions. 9 questions carrying 1 mark and 13 questions carrying 2 marks.
• 10 questions from GA.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper GG:

• Part A – 25 questions of 1 mark each. This part is common for all candidates.
• Part B – 30 questions of 2 marks each. This part has two sections, section-1 is of Geology and section-2 is of Geophysics.
• 10 questions from GA.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern for Paper XL:

• Section P – Chemistry (compulsory section) – It contains total 15 questions (5 questions of 1 marks and 10 questions of 2 marks).
• Any two of XL sections Q to U – Total 20 questions (10 questions of 1 mark each and 10 questions of 2 marks).
• 10 questions from GA.

GATE 2018 Selection Procedure:

Generally, the GATE 2018 Selection Procedure based on 3 stages: Registration form, online exam and at last counselling of the selected candidates. We will explain you better by providing steps regarding it.

2. Fill up the registration form.
3. Appear for the GATE 2018 Examination.
4. Wait for the results.
5. Finally, you can see your results on the official website.
6. You have to apply to the IITs College individually and for NIITS admission are done through the CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan) process.
7. The CCMT will be applied online on the website of GATE Examination.

GATE Admit Card 2018:

Candidates who have successfully submitted their GATE 2018 Application Form are able to download GATE 2018 Admit Card from 5th January 2017. The Admit card has been released on the official website. As the hall ticket of GATE 2018 examination, it has been issued from 5th January 2018 onwards while the examination will be conducted on 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th February 2018. Hall ticket is of prime importance for the examination because it has all the details about exam like examination centre, timing, date of exam, etc. Candidates have to bring this admit card to get an entry into the examination hall.

GATE Cut Off 2018:

GATE 2018 Cut-Off Marks are the minimum marks which required for a candidate to qualify in the examination. Cut-Off Marks for GATE 2018 will be released after the declaration of GATE 2018 Result. These scores will help us in approximating, whether the candidate will qualify the exam or not or reach the set cut-off limit or not. Students can compare their scores with the cut-off marks to know whether they’ve qualified the exam or not.

GATE Result 2018:

The Result of GATE 2018 exam will be declared after one month of the examination. As per the official released dates, GATE 2018 Result will be announced on 17th March 2018 (Saturday) on the official website that is gate.iitg.ac.in. Total score would be generated after analysing all the three sections. The candidate’s who will score well in this examination will be eligible to take admission in Top Engineering Colleges for the M.Tech degree or any other equivalent degree.
